Acyclovir is an oral medication that is used for the treatment of shingles. Shingles results in inflammation and itching that is somewhat similar to chickenpox except that it is usually much more severe.

It is recommended that you use a measuring spoon to get the most accurate dosage of liquid Acyclovir. It is also important to drink plenty of water and fluids while you are taking any form of Acyclovir.

Do not use medications that contain valacyclovir as it is similar to acyclovir and may interact with it negatively.
